SHELTER UPCOMING EVENTS

August 5 - Jefferson County 4-H Fair Parade-
We will be walking dogs in the parade.

October 13 - Columbus Day - Renaissance Festival in Bonner Springs
We will need about 20 people to work from approx. 9am - 3pm in the food courts.

2008 Fees for Adoptions

CATS $50
includes: -spay/neuter, vaccinations, FIV/Felv testing, and microchip

DOGS $80
includes: -spay/neuter, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and microchip

Spay and Neuter vouchers - available to Jefferson County
residents who already have pets. We currently have $50 vouchers for
dogs that are 40 pounds or more. Contact the shelter to request one.

Monthly Board Meeting - Public Welcome
Humane Society Board Meetings are held on the Third Tuesday of each month
at the shelter starting at 7:00pm.

We need your help to care for unwanted, neglected, and stray cats and dogs in Jefferson County. Please consider becoming a Humane Society member and joining our cause to provide this invaluable service to our community. Several membership levels are available. Join now!

Purchase a cookbook
Yummy recipes for your family and for your family pets. Humane Society cookbooks are $10 + tax. All proceeds benefit the Jefferson County Humane Society. Cookbooks are available at the shelter and at several retailers throughout Jefferson County. Makes a great gift!

Sign up to volunteer
Can you spare a few minutes to give a dog a walk, or a bath? Or just hand out a few brushes and pets to our homeless pets? Would you rather help in the office? Or with fundraising? We could always use more help! Please get involved. We especially need adult volunteers. For more information, call the Shelter Manager at 785-945-6600 or contact us online.

We need stuff!
Paper towels and bleach are always needed. We can also put your old towels, blankets, pet supplies, and some household items to good use. See our Wish List for more items. Drop by the shelter Monday, Wednesday, or Friday from 1 to 6 p.m., or Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m., or call the shelter at 785-945-6600 to make an appointment.
