What to do when you want to Adopt!

If you are interested in adopting, don't wait.  We take applications on a first come basis. The first application approved for an animal will have priority for that adoption, a hold will be place on that animal until they are ready to go home.  First thing you need to do is fill out an adoption application.  The downloadable application can be e-mailed or mailed to us or fill out the online application.   Once we receive your application, please give us one to two business days to look it over and get back with you.

Second, if you haven't already done so,  you need to meet your potential new family member.  Our animals can be seen anytime during open hours, no appointment needed.  Our hours are listed above.

Before applying, please consider that you must come to the shelter to complete the adoption.  We do not ship or transport animals.

Your application has been approved.  What's next?

Your application has been approved and you've met your animal - if the animal you're adopting has minimally been spayed or neutered, they can go home.  All animals must be spayed or neutered before they will be allowed to leave the facility.  Sometimes with animals that are newer to us, or young pups and kittens, there may be a bit of a wait before they can go home.  We make every effort to accomplish this in a timely and healthy manner.  If you are waiting for your new pet, we will call you as soon as the vet appointment has been made and will make arrangements for pick-up at that time.  You are more than welcome to visit your new pet anytime during open hours.  If at anytime during this process you decided not to adopt, please just let us know so that we can re-list the animal.

If you have any questions, please e-mail or give us a call.
